Donna Paulette Galuszka (nee Compton) age 74, of Elwood, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2024 at her home with her loving family at her side. Survived by her devoted husband of 27 years Raymond E. Galuszka Sr, her children James (Jenny) Sledge, Jeffrey (Meggan) Sledge, Raymond E. Galuszka Jr., and Lauren Galuszka, her grandchildren Peyton (Logan Belcher) Sledge, Drew Sledge and Lincoln J. Sledge, her great grandchildren Audrey and Lillian Belcher, her sister-in-law Phyllis Compton and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceded in death by her parents Frank and Essie (nee Thomas) Compton, and her siblings Luther Compton, James Compton, and Rava Dakin. Donna was a graduate of Big Creek High School, West Virginia. She was a long-time member of Faith Connection Church, formerly known as Wilton Center Federated Church, Wilton Center but in most recent years became a member of Elwood Community Church, Elwood, in both places formed long lasting friendships. Donna worked at AT&T for many years retiring as Broadband Engineer. She then began working at First Bank of Manhattan for several years and retired as Bank Manager. Donna was a gifted quilter and she also enjoyed fishing and anything sunflowers. Donna truly loved everybody, she was generous, kind, and humble. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 from 3-7:00p.m. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. A brief prayer service will follow at 7:00p.m. A formal funeral service will take place at a later date. Inurnment Mt. Hope Cemetery, Ottawa, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donna's name to Elwood Community Church, 101 S. Chicago St., Elwood, IL 60421 and would be most appreciated.
