Obituary

Adele S. Querio(nee SantaCruz), age 91, of Elwood, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Salem Village, Joliet. She is survived by her two daughters, Marjorie (William) Telfer, and Mary (Robert) Smrekar both of Elwood, four grandchildren; Daniel (Vicki) Telfer of CA, Robert (Aly Bosetti – Fiancé) Telfer of Chicago, Keith (Teresa) Kristinat of Chicago, and Theodora M. Smrekar of Elwood, three great grandchildren; Nova and Pandora Telfer, and Annie Kristinat, her brother, Jack (Helen) SantaCruz of Georgia, her sister, Marcia (Don-Deceased) Eib of MI, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Edith (nee Nielsen) SantaCruz, her husband, William Querio (1992), her infant sister, Betty Jane SantaCruz, and her grandson, Richard W. Kristinat (2001). Adele was a lifelong active member of the Elwood Community Church and a member of the Elwood History Club. Among many hobbies, she enjoyed reading, painting, needle work and recreational piano playing. Funeral service for Adele Querio will be 7:00 p.m., Monday, June 2, 2014 at Forsythe Funeral Home with Pastor Carrie Kapral officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00p.m. Cremation to follow. Interment Maple Hill Cemetery, Elwood.
