Alice L. Breen (nee Puhek), age 89, passed away peacefully with family at her side on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Sunny Hill Nursing Home, Joliet. Preceded in death by her husband, John J. Breen, her parents, John and Verna Pastornack and her brother, Tom Puhek. She is survived by her four sons; John A. (Marion) Breen, Richard L. (Jane) Breen, Lawrence (Linda) Breen, and Michael (Rachael) Breen, her sister, Jean (Don) Evans, 15 grandchildren, numerous great and great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Alice was born in Rockdale and was a life-long resident of Joliet. She was employed for 30 years at Clear Glass of Plainfield. The Breen family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Sunny Hill Nursing Home and Joliet Area Community Hospice for their excellent care and outstanding concern during Alice's stay. Funeral service for Alice will be 11:00 AM from Forsythe Gould Funeral Home in procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 235 West North Street, Manhattan, for 11:30 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00-11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Interment St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Manhattan. Memorials in Alice's name to Sunny Hill Nursing Home or to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be most appreciated.
