Alice Jean Galvez (nee Rush) age (2 hours short of) 81 years of Manhattan. Born April 10, 1934, passed away peacefully, April 9, 2015 with her family by her side. Preceded in death by her parents Mike and Mae Rush originally of Ashkum; her husband Ray (2007), one son Mark; one sister-in-law Catalina Galvez. Starting with a 10 stool counter and carry outs, Ray and Alice owned and operated Galvez Restaurant for over 30 years in Manhattan moving to the "south side" in later years. Survived by one daughter, Carmen (Jerry) Kinsella of Manhattan; one sister Karma (Lowell) Johnson of Hendersonville, North Carolina; brother-in-law Jesus Galvez of California; grandchildren Paul Kinsella of Manhattan; Angela (Zach) Belzer and Mike Galvez of Chicago; great grandchildren Madison and Hayden Kinsella and Natalie Belzer; nephew Mike (Jocelyn) Johnson of Chicago and Mary Beth Johnson of Savanna, Georgia. Alice was a member of St. Patrick Church and CCW of Wilton Center; American Legion Women's Auxiliary and former Member of Manhattan Chamber of Commerce. Funeral Service for Alice will be 9:30 a.m., Monday, April 13, 2015 from Forsythe Funeral Home in procession to St. Patrick Church, Wilton Center, for 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Visitation will be Sunday, April 12, from 2-6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment Mount St. Patrick Cemetery, Wilton Center.
