Allen R. Robbins, age 66, of Manhattan, passed away suddenly on Friday, May 19, 2017 at Silver Cross Hospital, New Lenox with his beloved caregiver Stephanie at his side. Survived by his loving children, Michelle (Matt) Hansen, Michael Robbins, and Matthew Robbins, his grandchildren, Abigail, and twins, Emma and Elijah, his brothers; Robert (Jean) Robbins, Thomas (Sandra) Robbins, Donald (Carol) Robbins, and James (Pamela) Robbins, his sister, Mary Anne (Steve) Meyer, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, and many friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Rita (nee Martell) Robbins. Allen was a lifetime farmer and is the creator of the infamous "Pumpkin Chucker". He was a member of the Will County Farm Bureau and lifetime member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Wilton Center. He was an avid reader; he enjoyed watching and playing sports and enjoyed a good movie. He was a doting grandfather and wouldn't miss a grandchild's event; he loved his children and his family. It has been said that if you cannot tell the character of a man, just look at his friends, Allen had a big circle of friends, who will miss him dearly. Visitation for Allen will be Wednesday, May 24, 2017 from 3-8:00 P.M. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Thursday, May 25, 2017, 9:15 from the funeral home in procession to St. Patrick's Catholic, 14936 W. Peotone Rd., Wilton Twp. for 10:00 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial.
