Angela Dorothy "Dort" Isberg (nee Vecellio), age 96, of Joliet passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Lightways Hospice Home with her loving family at her side. Survived by her daughter Diana (Tom) Herbst, her grandchildren Jeffrey Herbst, Cynthia (James) Hudetz, her great grandchildren Devin Herbst, Zander Hudetz, Gianna Hudetz and Vincent Hudetz, nieces and nephews Karen (Tom) Sorbero, Kathy Brandt, James (Debbie) Isberg, Robert (Kelly) Isberg, Richard (Paula) Isberg, William Crawford, Robert (Carol) Crawford, James (Lauri) Crawford and Tim (Gale) Crawford and numerous great nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents Art and Victoria Vecellio, her husband Raymond E. Isberg (2008), her sister Anna Jean Crawford, brother-in-law Bob Crawford, her nephew Donald Isberg and niece Kay (Klint) Jevitz. Angela was a graduate of Coal City High School. She met Ray in Joliet and they married soon after. Angela worked at the Arsenal as a bookkeeper retiring after several years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking, baking, her trips to Vegas and spending time with her family. Angela will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation for Angela will take place on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 Noon at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. Prayers will be said at 12:00 Noon followed by a procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 235 W. North St., Manhattan for 12:30 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with committal service will take place immediately following Mass at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood where she will be reunited with her husband Raymond. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Angela's name may be made to Lightways Hospice by visiting www.lightwayshospice.org and would be most appreciated.
