Ann L. (nee Clevenger) Neubauer, age 74, of Elwood, passed away Friday, June 13, 2014 at her home with family at her side. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Gordon Neubauer, her son Rob (Emily) of Lockport, one grandson, Ryan of Griffith, IN, two sisters, Jane (David) Parkhill of Ft. Meyers, FL, and Mary (Charles Zigler) Clevenger of Collison, IL, two nieces, Amity Tarrants of Franklin, TN, and Kelly Cameron of St. Charles, IL. Preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Evelyn (nee Knudson) Clevenger. Ann was born on July 15, 1939 and was raised in Pontiac, IL. She received her bachelors and masters degrees in teaching from ISU. Ann taught at Gompers Jr. High in Joliet for 28 years. She was a volunteer at Silver Cross Hospital and served as a member of the Advisory Board and recently received her 2500 hour pin. She also volunteered at the Salem Home Alzheimer's Ward playing piano and singing for the patients. Ann and Gordon were members of the Illinois Valley Antique Oldsmobile Club and of the Grace United Methodist Church. Funeral Service for Ann will be 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Forsythe Funeral Home with Pastor Jan Shaulis officiating. Visitation will be Monday, June 16, 2014 from 4-8:00 p.m. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood. Memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice or The Cancer Support Center would be most appreciated.
