Obituary

Anthony "Tony" Kestel, of Manhattan Twp, died peacefully at his home with his family at his side on Thursday, December 15, 2016. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Eleanor nee Olah, three sons; James (Colleen), David (Lori) and Thomas (Tracy), one daughter Christine (Joseph) Tures, six grandchildren; Corinne, Jake, Tony, Frankie, Samantha and Nick. He was preceded by his parents Francis and Corinne Weigand Kestel. Tony was born and raised in Manhattan where he was a life-long farmer. He proudly served with the US Army and was stationed in Germany. He was a life-long member of St. Joseph Catholic parish in Manhattan and an active member of the Will County Farm Bureau. Tony was the definition of a Family Man. He had many friends and he never met a stranger. Funeral service for Anthony L. Kestel will be 10:00 am, Monday December 19, 2016 from Forsythe Gould Funeral Home, Manhattan, to St. Joseph Church for Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 am. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Visitation Sunday, 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Memorials to St. Joseph Church or Joliet Area Community Hospice would be most appreciated.
