Anthony F. "Tony" Rago, age 79, passed away peacefully at his home in Manhattan, Illinois, on August 8, 2026.

Tony was born on July 31, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from T.F. South High School in 1965 and went on to proudly serve his country as an officer in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Following his military service, Tony began working a long, successful career with R.H. Ward and Associates. After many years with the company, he and his business partner purchased the business in 1984. Together, they spent 31 years building and growing the company through hard work, dedication, and commitment. Tony took great pride in the business and in everything he worked to accomplish throughout his career.

In 1977, Tony married the love of his life, Deborah Lynn Tobiasz. Together, they built a wonderful life and raised three sons, Bret, Blake, and Bradley. Above all, Tony was a devoted husband and father and a proud and loving "Poppi" to his grandchildren and step-grandchildren. His greatest joy came from his family and the time they shared together.

Tony was a private person who enjoyed spending time at home with his family, where he found his greatest comfort and happiness. He also had a passion for collecting Southwest art and enjoyed traveling, especially to South Dakota, Florida, and Arizona. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, dedication to his family, and the life and legacy he built over his 79 years.

Tony is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Deborah; his sons, Bret (Nicole), Blake (Meghan), and Bradley (Shyla); his grandchildren, Giada, Piper, Mia, Mason, Olivia, AJ, Bella, and Hunter; his step-grandchildren, Tyson, Sofia, Lily, Chloe, and Lucy; and his sister, Linda (Dennis).

He is preceded in death by his father, Anthony; his mother, Elaine; his brothers, Michael and Patrick; and his sister, Catherine.

Tony's memory will live on through his family, the many lives he touched, and the legacy he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
