Basilisa Justiniano "Alicia", age 83, of McHenry, passed away peacefully on August 24th, 2024, at her daughter's home with her loving family at her side. Survived by her devoted husband of 60 years Jose Angel Justiniano Sr., her children Jose Angel Justiniano Jr. and Alicia (Daniel) Vazquez, her grandchildren Christina Murla, Vincent Justiniano, Stephanie (Chris) Shields, Alissya Vazquez, Nathaniel Vazquez, and Katelyn Justiniano, her brother Tito Castillo, great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents Delfin and Crucita Castillo, her son Jose Alberto Justiniano Master, and her siblings Carmen, Heriberto, Lillian, Santos, and Felix. Alicia was born in Puerto Rico. She graduated as valedictorian from her high school in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. Alicia moved to the United States in 1963. She loved music and dancing but most of all, she loved her family, they were everything to her. Jose and Alicia created a beautiful life here in the United States and were able to help so many family members coming to the mainland. Her laughter, her joyous nature and beautiful spirit left an imprint on all she met. We may have lost a uniquely wonderful spirit, but the heavens have gained a tremendous and precious gift.

Visitation for Alicia will take place on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. with funeral service at 1:00 P.M.
