Bernice J. Williams, 94, was "Bea" to her family and friends, and it suited her beautifully. Born and raised in Manhattan, IL to Joseph and Edith O'Connor, she was a devoted mother, active in her community and a true and faithful friend to a large hive of woman and their families. She loved boisterous parties, old songs, a good thriller and defending at bridge. Bea will be remembered for her compassion, patience and strength, and leaves us richer and more deeply human for knowing her. She is remembered by her children Mary, Susie, Dan, Katy and Peggy, her sisters Edith O'Connor and Patsy Fehrenbacher, her many nieces and nephews, her informally adopted daughter Joan and Granddaughter Lexie, and countless dear friends and swell neighbors. She's in the best of company where she is. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Manhattan, IL on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. Family will receive friends from 10:30 A.M. until the time of service. Her burial will be private. Children gave Bea so much joy and hope for the future.
