Obituary

Betty J. Reed-Marsaglia, age 93, of Sun Prairie, WI, formerly of Manhattan, IL, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Waunakee Manor. She is survived by her loving children Shay Harris of Hartford, WI, Mary (Tom Haberski) Reed of Waunakee, WI and Tera Michelle Reed of Madison, WI, four granddaughters, Alicia (Todd Duffy), Marriah, Olivia and Madeline, two grandsons, Ryan, and Andrew, three great-grandchildren, Isabella, Elliana and Isaiah, as well as nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents Bonny and Elva Clark, her first husband Howard Reed, her second husband Donald Marsaglia, her daughter Teresa Reed, her sister Eleanor, her brother George, her brother Louis, her step-son Tom Reed and step-daughter Patricia Lundgren. Betty was an active member of St. Joseph Church, Manhattan, She was a lector, eucharistic minister and past president of the CCW and taught CCD. Betty also taught children to read through the Joliet Literacy Program. She was a personnel manager at Wieboldt's in Joliet for 8 years and was heavily involved in the Cursillo Movement. Betty pioneered the First Ecumenical Service in Manhattan uniting Christians throughout the Manhattan Area. Betty's artistic flair was reflected in the way she decorated her homes, in the joy she took in cooking, and in all the needlework, cards, photo albums, and coloring masterpieces she created. She was a warm and caring woman who touched the hearts of so many people. Funeral Service for Betty will be 9:30 A.M., Tuesday, February 27, 2018 From Forsythe Gould Funeral Home, Manhattan, in procession to St. Joseph Church, 235 West North St. Manhattan for 10:00 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial. Visitation will be Monday, February 26, 2018 from 3-6:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, Manhattan.
