Beverly J. Brooks (nee Ward), age 94, of Manhattan, IL, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at Lightways Hospice Home, Joliet, IL. Survived by her daughter Gayle (Joe) Strmec, and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband Dwayne C. Brooks (1989), her parents, Thomas M. Ward (1966), Gladys I. Ward (1982) and one brother Warren T. Ward (1980). Active member of the Manhattan United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Will County Farm Bureau and the Sassy Scarlet Sensations Red Hat Society. Beverly also participated in choir in 7th and 8th grade at A.O. Marshall, four years of Acapella Choir at Joliet Township High School and the Manhattan United Methodist Church Choir for a number of years. Beverly was an independent woman who lived on her own until her passing and she will be missed by all who knew her. Visitation for Beverly will be on Monday, September 12, 2022, from 9-11:00 A.M. Funeral service will take place immediately following visitation at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Melwyn Alagodi officiating. All services will take place at the funeral home. Interment Elmhurst Cemetery, Joliet IL.
