Beverly Ann Vander Boegh, age 92 of Manhattan, IL, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Survived by her children Georgia, Allison, and Dale Vander Boegh, grand-dogs Buffy and Millie, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and best friend Marilyn Boyle. Vander Boegh, parents Ivan and Viola Goodwin, sister-in-law Naomi Vander Boegh McEwan, beloved friends Ruth and Ken Mundt, Bonnie and Bob Rauworth, Norma and Ed Boyle, Mary Lou and Don D’Amico, and Marilyn’s husband Bill Boyle.
Beverly was proud to have been raised in and spent her lifetime in Manhattan. She lived a good and full life serving her community and loved ones. Early in her years, she worked at her family’s store, Goodwin’s Grocery Store, and met her dearest Dale there. In 1955, they were the first couple to be married at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ then built a strong family unit, having their children and making a profound impact in town serving in the Manhattan Fire Protection District. She was a dispatcher for 22 years before spending her last 8 years with them as an insurance coder on the administrative side. She was an active member of St. Paul’s UCC, serving and leading the Women’s Fellowship, singing in the choir, serving on the church council, and KWIL, a charter member of the Manhattan Township Historical Society since 1987, and an active member of the Manhattan Township Library Board for 26 years—filling every office position throughout the years! Beverly also loved to bake, garden, and sew. She took joy in the annual trips she and Dale were able to take with their children to Michigan and Wisconsin. A wonderful mother, aunt, cousin, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Her family would like to thank Lightways Hospice, her caregivers Laima, Valerie, Zoe and Sandra, and friends, family and Pastor Pat for their care and assistance.
