Brian M. Griest Sr., age 51, of Wilmington, passed away suddenly with family by his side on June 26, 2016 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center, Joliet. He is survived by his wife Peggy O'Connor Griest, his mother, Myrt (nee Strohrigl) Griest, his children, Jessica Griest of Ohio, Brain Jr. of Joliet, Nick (Sherry) of Manhattan, and Brandon O'Connor of Wilmington, his step children, Phillip Chellino of Texas and Brian (Rachel) Chellino of Texas, his siblings, Tammie (Doug) Wilson of Crete, Tim Griest of Lockport, and Annette (Don) Dipple of Iowa, three sister-in-laws, one brother-in-law, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, and his faithful canine companion, Manny. Preceded in death by his father, Jack Griest (2015). Brian was carpenter by trade; he was a loving son, husband, father, and friend. He was humble, generous, and kind and he had a great sense of humor. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2016 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. with a funeral service at 1:00 P.M. on the same day at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home, 507 S.
