Carol J. Palmer, nee Conte, age 71, late of Jackson Twp, died Friday, September 28, 2018 at silver Cross Hospital, New Lenox. Survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Ken Palmer, one son John Anthony Palmer of Joliet, two daughters; Elizabeth Ann "Betsy" (Adam) Burnnet of Lisbon, Il. And Mauguerite Louise "Margo" Cox (Joseph Poisson) of IN. Four grandchildren also survive. Preceded in death by her parents John and Vivian (nee Amoruso) Conte. Carol was born in Philadelphia, PA and grew up in Westbury, NY. She was a graduate of the University of Michigan with a Masters degree in Anthropology. She had a brilliant mind and became a highly respected professional in the insurance industry as a Senior Underwriter for several major fortune 500 insurance companies. Her and Ken were very dedicated to animal rescue and together they founded H.O.P.E. Animal Rescue of Elwood. A service of remembrance will be 4:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at the Forsythe Gould Funeral Home, Manhattan. Family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until the time of service.
