Cathy Lee
Carlos
April 27, 1949 – January 18, 2025
Cathy Lee Carlos, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away gently in Manhattan, IL after a brave battle with a lingering illness. Born on April 27, 1949, in Los Angeles, CA, Cathy's vivacious spirit and warm heart touched all those fortunate enough to know her throughout her 75 years of life.
Cathy's journey alongside her beloved husband, Mike, affectionately known to all as "M.C.," was one of enduring love and companionship. Their 33 years together, 17 of which as husband and wife, were filled with shared laughter, dreams, and the day-to-day joys of family life. The legacy of their union includes Cathy's children Kim Wolf, Karrie (Brian) Kenney, Kelly Wolf, Krissi Wolf, Mike's children Amy (Jeff) Manhart, and James (Nikki) Carlos. Cathy's seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren were a continual source of pride and happiness.
Her life was enriched by the close bonds she had with her siblings, Charles Davis, Patti (Steve) Daugherty, Jim (Denise) Davis, Jeff Davis, Randy Davis and Lois (Bryan) Stone, as well as her siblings-in-law, Peggy (Rick) Walsh, Sherri (Mike) Magnuson, Phil (Patsy) Carlos, Dennis (Mari) Carlos, and extended through a web of cherished nieces and nephews.
Cathy was greeted in Heaven by her parents Charles and Lois Davis, her parents-in-law Gene and Mary Carlos and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Buzz and Janice Carlos.
Cathy's flair for creativity was apparent in her work as a hairstylist, a profession that allowed her to infuse beauty into the everyday. Her varied career also saw her contributing her talents to General Electric for several years. The local community will fondly remember her friendly face behind the bar at Mr. B's in Elwood and Bit O'Blarney in Manhattan.
Cathy's passions extended beyond her work to her love of gardening, a testament to her nurturing nature, and her skills in the kitchen where she conjured up delectable dishes. Her zest for life also led her to winter in Fort Meyers, Florida, for over 25 years and to engage in the excitement of Las Vegas trips.
Cathy's departure leaves a void in the many lives she touched, but her vibrant spirit will continue to inspire and guide her family and friends. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for her unfailing kindness, her resilient strength, and the joy she brought into the world.
Per Cathy's wishes, no services will be held and cremation has been respectfully addressed.
Arrangements entrusted to Forsythe Gould Funeral Home, 507 S. State St., Manhattan, IL 60442, 815-478-3321, www.forsythegouldfh.com.
