Charles A. Lane, age 92, of Manhattan, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Thursday, February 16, 2017. He is survived by his daughters, Bonnie (Mark) Taylor and Judy (John) Ryals, his grandchildren, Ryan (fiancé, Stephanie Vojas) Taylor, Mackenzie Taylor, Lane Ryals, Andrea Ryals, and Colin Ryals. Preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Bonnie Lane, his wife, Donna (nee Groves) Lane and his son, Jeffery Lane. Charles was born and raised in Jefferson, Iowa and was a long time resident of Manhattan, IL. Charles was a proud WWII Navy Veteran and was one of the first SeaBees and he was a long time employee of Caterpillar Tractor in Joliet. Charles enjoyed spending time with his family and having friends over to watch the Chicago Bears and the Cubs. Funeral service for Charles Lane will be 11:00 A.M., Monday, February 20, 2017 at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home with Rev. Carol Currier-Frighetto officiating.
