Obituary

Charles Rizzuto, age 64, of Manhattan formerly of Glenwood, passed away peacefully with family at his side on Saturday, January 4, 2020 after his battle with brain cancer at Salem Village Nursing Home. Survived by his loving siblings Michael (Mary) Rizzuto and Donelle (Rich) Jurgenson, adoring nieces and nephews April Arendt, Natalie (Daniel) Blasing, Melissa (Joseph) Novak, Victoria Pliego-Poza, Rebecca Lynch, Taylor Rizzuto and Shannon Lynch, great nieces and nephews Dylan Ingram, Jacob Arendt, Alexis Arendt, Kara Blasing, Zoey Blasing, Leah Novak, Mia Diaz and Hailey Novak. Preceded in death by his parents Richard and Barbara (nee Cantele) Rizzuto and his faithful canine companion Chewey. Charles was a graduate of Bloom High School in Chicago Heights. He resided in Glenwood until just under 8 years ago when he moved to Manhattan with his brother Michael and his family. Charles was a joy to be around. He was kind and thoughtful and he enjoyed the simple things in life like reading the daily paper or taking in a Chicago White Sox game or maybe even a Cubs game if the Sox weren't playing. He especially enjoyed going to all his nieces and nephews' athletic games throughout their school years. Michael and Mary enjoyed having Charles in their home, he brought with him excitement and spontaneity and his presence will be dearly missed.
