Christopher Brian Granitz, Sr. "Mr. G", age 81, of Frankfort, formerly of Manhattan, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Wednesday, December 23, 2015. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Arlene (nee Moschiano) Granitz, his children; Christopher Jr. (Kim), Mary Jo (Barry Sr.) Bradshaw, Anthony (Joy) , Tina (James) Karasek, Joseph (Rosemary), John Francis (Tina), his grandchildren; Christopher III, Angelina, Barry Jr., Anthony Joseph, Hallelujah Grace, Tiffanie, Taylor, Eve, Samantha, Ava Rose, Nina Marie, Nicholas, his brother, Anthony and his brothers-in-law, Joseph Moschiano and Robert Lang. Preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Lillian (nee Terry) Granitz, and his sister, Lillian. Christopher served in the U.S. Army as a Military Policeman, later he worked as an engineer and retired from the railroad. Upon retiring, he encouraged and assisted his wife in their family business in Manhattan, Mrs. G's. He enjoyed gardening, sunshine, reading and public speaking. A celebration of Christopher's life will be 11:00 A.M., Monday, December 28, 2015 at Heritage Baptist Church, 21739 South LaGrange Rd., Frankfort with Pastor Milton Jones officiating. Visitation will be Monday 9:00 A.M. until the time of service. Interment with Military Honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood.
