Christopher (Chris) Rusin, age 68, of Evergreen Park, passed away on March 26, 2026, surrounded by his family after a hard-fought battle against chemo-resistant cancer.

Chris will be remembered as a devoted partner, dad, papa, and friend. He shared 25 loving years with his partner, Marita Collins, whose companionship meant so much to him.

He is survived by his two daughters, Erika Siegler and Michelle (Shawn) Patten, as well as his six cherished grandchildren: Katelyn, CJ, Kristin, Harper, Hayley, and Wyatt. His family was the center of his life, and he took great pride in the time he spent with them and the memories they created together.

Raised in Mount Greenwood, Chris carried his neighborhood roots with him throughout his life. He was always up for a little mischief, and his family often joked that they should tie a helium balloon to him when out and about, as he had a knack for getting sidetracked and wandering off on his own adventures.

A car guy through and through, Chris had a deep love for hot rods and classic cars. He was a fan of swap meets and drag racing, always enjoying the thrill, the stories, and the community that came with them. Known for his signature Hawaiian shirts and silly hats, he brought laughter and lightness wherever he went. His fun-loving spirit and easygoing nature made him someone people were naturally drawn to. He was truly loved by all who knew him.

Chris's memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will forever cherish his humor, his warmth, and the joy he brought into their lives. Somewhere, he's smiling, so go ahead and have a cold one for Chris.
