Obituary

Colleen E. Gallaway, age 64, of Braceville, IL, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 6, 2026, surrounded by her family at Silver Cross Hospital, New Lenox after a courageous battle with cancer. Survived by her husband of 25 years married 5, Vincent E. Aguilar, her children Richard Myers and Thomas Myers, her mother-in-law Esther Aguilar, her step children Yvette (Markus) Vangen, Marissa (Gino) Perry, Vincent Erik (Brittany) Aguilar, her siblings Mike Gallaway, Tammy (Mark) Santangelo, Pat (Debbie) Gallaway, Sean (Vicki) Gallaway, Timmy (Brenda) Gallaway, her siblings-in-law Elizabeth (Derek) Day, Arthur (Florence) Aguilar, Sylvia Aguilar, numerous, nieces, nephews, and cousins and her furry friends “Belle” and “Leo”. Preceded in death by her parents James “Mike” and June Gallaway, her brother Martin Gallaway, and her father-in-law Roland Aguilar. Colleen was born and raised Catholic. She was a graduate of Lincoln-Way Central High School in New Lenox. Colleen has a passion for flowers and was a floral designer for many years. She continued that passion at her home in her own beautiful floral gardens. Colleen enjoyed a simple life, watching hummingbirds, watering her garden and taking in a Nascar race with her husband Vincent is what made her happy. She will be remembered as a woman with a flare, a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her. A memorial visitation for Colleen will take place on Friday, August 14, 2026, from 2:30-3:30pm followed by a funeral service at 3:30pm.
