David Henry
Lindmark
September 23, 1964 – January 1, 2026
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of David Henry "DL" Lindmark, who died on January 1, 2026, at the age of 61, at his home in Manhattan, Illinois.
Dave lived life with an open heart and an adventurous spirit. He had a lifelong love of photography, movies, road trips, motorcycles, music, and all kinds of adventures. Most of all, he loved his family and his many friends. Dave will be remembered for his warmth, embracing energy, his charisma, and his boundless curiosity. He was clever and creative, with an incredible ability to fix, and bring ideas to life. His enthusiasm for just about everything he encountered was contagious, as was the sparkle in his eye, his wonderful laugh, and his gift for making others laugh. Dave was endlessly generous, always ready to give of himself to help others, and he had a comforting, joyful presence — along with what many will fondly remember as the world's greatest hugs.
Dave's wanderlust was infectious. Through his stories, photographs, music, and reflections, he gave those around him the gift of experiencing his adventures safely and joyfully alongside him. In that spirit, and in honor of Dave's memory, we can all take a page from his book: continue exploring, keep wondering what's around the next corner or over the next hill, and look for ways to help one another. That is a legacy worth emulating.
Dave was a loving father, son, brother, and uncle. He is survived by his daughter, Aime Mason Eden (Jesse); his mother, JoAnne Johnson; his father, George Lindmark (Barb); and his siblings, George Lindmark (Jaquette), Jack Johnson (Becky Ray), Julie Johnson (Shannon Kawa) & Jack Johnson (Nephew), Tommy Kawa (brother-in-law), Jeff Lancaster (Desireé), Lance and Lilly (Nephew & Niece), Chris Lindmark (Chris), Brandon and Brianna (Nephew & Niece) and Missy Swinson (Mike), Jason, Samuel, Mike, Emma, and Abigail (Nephews & Nieces). He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Johnson.
Dave will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
