David Earl McGee, age 71 of Wilmington, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at his home. He is survived by his children, Mark McGee, Jason (Stephanie) McGee, Brandi (Nicole) McGee, grandchildren, Savanna, Isaac and Alivia McGee, Warren Avery and Jayden Mossberger, brother, Wallace William McGee and sister, Shirley Becker. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Dave is preceded in death by his parents, William and Dorothy (nee Wallace) McGee, daughter, Heather McGee and sister, Nellie Harris. Dave was born in Tennessee and came to Manhattan as a young child. He spent his career as a Journey Lineman and worked for ComEd and the Department of Water and Power in Los Angeles for nearly 30 years. After retirement, Dave moved back to Illinois and resettled in the Wilmington area. He was a hard worker but enjoyed fishing and riding his motorcycle in his spare time. He also took pleasure in pitching horseshoes and throwing darts with friends. He was devoted to his faith in God and prayed The Lord's Prayer every day.
