David L. McGinnis Sr., age 68, passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Riverside Medical Center, Kankakee. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Terry (nee Gougar) McGinnis, son David (Monica) McGinnis Jr., daughter Melanie (Kevin) Geiss, grandchildren; Kathlyn Mcginnis, Patrick McGinnis, Shelby Olsen and Lillian Olsen, brother Jack McGinnis, mother-in-law Kathlyn Gougar, sister-in-law Dorothy Mcginnis, brother-in-law Walter (Joyce) Gougar and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Gladys Mcginnis, sister Wanda (Ted) Marlo, brother Bill Mcginnis, and father-in-law Walter Gougar Jr. Dave was a graduate of Lincoln-Way High School Class of 68', he then attended Joliet Junior College earning his A.A. degree. He was a Navy veteran serviing our country during Vietnam. Dave's hobbies included fishing, hunting, golfing, amateur photography and especially spoiling his grandchildren. Visitation for David will be Thursday, August 23, 2018 from 9:00 – 11:00 A.M. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. Funeral service will be the same day at 11:00 A.M. also at the funeral home.
