Dennis "Denny" James Delaney, age 68, of Manhattan, passed away peacefully in Sarasota, FL on Saturday, May 28, 2022 with his wife Carla (nee Frost) of 50 years by his side. Also survived are his devoted children Jennifer (Travis) Tackett, Heather Delaney, Ryan (Shelly Falkena) Delaney, Sean (Danielle) Delaney and Bridget (Damien) Zeller, his grandchildren Ava, Eli, and Anastasia Tackett, Peyton, Paige and Nicholas Rajzer, Phelan and Tala Delaney, Jocelyn, Adelyn, Evelyn, and Kinsley Delaney and Marlee, Izzy, Lincoln, and Theo Zeller, his great grandchild Hudson, his brother Richard (Peggy Agamy) Delaney, his sisters Sue (Jack) Lee, Karen Delaney, Phyllis Delaney and Mary Ann (Mike) Sperry, his mother-in -law Mary Schweiger, his brother-in-law Jim (Debbie) Frost, his sister-in-law Phyllis Lindberg and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Ralph "Rudy" and Lorraine (nee Carlos) Delaney and his father-in-law Carlton Frost. He graduated from Providence Catholic High School class of 1972 and retired from the Cement Mason's Union. Denny appreciated the little things that made life worth living and he had an adventurous spirit. He loved nature, the outdoors and especially anything near water. He loved traveling with Carla and taking part in his children's and grandchildren's activities. Denny loved reading, learning, and building. Denny was a family man, who adored and cherished his family, and he will be greatly missed. A memorial visitation for Denny will be on Monday, June 27, 2022 from 4-8:00 P.M. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. Funeral service will be on Tuesday, June 28 beginning with prayers at 9:30 A.M. at the funeral home followed by procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 235 W. North St. Manhattan for 10:00 A.M. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial. Inurnment St. Joseph Cemetery, Manhattan. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family or a charity of your choice would be most appreciated.
