Dennis P. Walsh, age 69, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at his home with his family at his side. He is survived by his children Jacob Walsh, Christopher Dixon, and David Nugent, his siblings Patricia (Phil) Carlos, Joseph (Mary Jane) Walsh, and Timothy (Cindy) Walsh, numerous nieces and nephews and his faithful canine companion "Duke". Preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Margaret (Nee Foreman) Walsh, his wife Janet (nee Nugent) Walsh in 2014, his brother Michael Walsh, and his brother-in-law Terrence Cavanaugh. Dennis was a graduate of Joliet East High School. He was born and raised on a farm in Elwood. Dennis worked his entire adult career as an Operator at Stepan Chemical from age 18 until he retired in 2018 at age 63. He was also member of the Teamsters Local Union #179. Dennis enjoyed watching the stock market daily, shopping for cars or just about anything that was a good deal, attending estate sales and auctions, and as a true Walsh, he always enjoyed gardening and farming. Dennis will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation for Dennis will be on Friday, July 19, 2024 from 4-8:00 P.M. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. Funeral service will be the following day, Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 10:30 A.M. also at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow at Mt.
