Obituary

Diane A. Frederick, age 77 of Manhattan, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her bed on August 6, 2025, with her loving family in her presence.

Survived by her beloved husband, Dale Frederick, children Jeni Lucas, Ginger Klimek, Michelle Moline, Kellie (Joe) Pacella, and Randy (Linda) Frederick, grandchildren Tyler, Will, and Nate Klimek, Josephine Moline, Daniel, Jack, and Michael Pacella, Brayden and Noah Frederick, brother Daniel (Kathy) Schell, brother-in-law Russell (Mary Lou) Frederick, and her beloved dog, sweet Maggie Mae, who followed her devoutly.

Diane was a woman of unwavering faith who found her calling in healing. After high school, she further pursued her education at Richard J. Daley College and moved on to earn her bachelor's degree in nursing from Governors State University. Starting at Advocate Christ Hospital, Diane was highly dedicated in her career as a registered nurse. Her commitment led her to touch countless lives with tenderness and care through numerous facilities up to her retirement at King-Bruwaert House, a place she held dear to her heart. She was passionate about tending to the elderly, especially those suffering from dementia.

She was an eternally courageous and strong woman. By the power of her will, the love and guidance given by her dedicated family, and her trust in the Lord, she fought life's challenges with grace. Her unique sense of humor and bright spirit were sources of inspiration and comfort to everyone around her. She treasured her Cornerstone Church of LincolnWay family and was regarded as a wonderful testimony to what they represent. No matter her condition, she was insistent towards attending whether in-person or remotely.

Outside of the bliss she experienced in the comfort of her own home, Diane was always a beach girl who loved to travel. The memories of her marriage to her darling Dale in Hawaii, the soft sands of Maui and Tahiti, the shores of Cocoa Beach, the warmth of Alabama—these were her favorites amidst the many places her and Dale ventured to within their beautiful partnership. She and her family treasured the excitement and memories of their last cruise together.

Though she is happily at home with the Lord and left this earth in the exact way she wanted to, she leaves behind her loyal husband, children, grandchildren, Maggie, her church family, and her amazing friends and neighbors who will all miss her dearly. She was blessed with a large and diverse group of people that would jump to be at her side in an instant any time help or companionship were needed.
