Donald Hunt, age 68, passed away unexpectedy on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Silver Cross Hospital. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Rebecca (nee Kescik), his son, Donald Jr. of Manhattan, one sister, Corinne (Bob) Ufferman, one brother-in-law Tony Serge, two sisters-in-law Karen (John) Ramirez and Holly (Jim) Horrell, very close family friends Stephanie (Tom) Gajdorus and Libby (Mark) Augustine, and his two faithful canine companions Sammie and Chloe. Preceded in death by his parents Donald and Gertrude (nee Taylor) Hunt, his daughter Heather Hunt (1994) and one sister, Iris Serge. Donald worked for Johnson and Johnson for 25 years until they closed, he then went to JB Hunt as a driver until he retired. Don could be found sitting with his family on Sunday's at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Manhattan. His passion in life was sports of all kinds, especially winter sports. Don played semi-pro hockey for 16 years and absolutely loved the Chicago Blackhawks. He also enjoyed the Chicago Bears, Nascar and was an avid crossword puzzle solver. Funeral service for Don will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 14, at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home with Deacon Patrick Forsythe Officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, September 13, 2015 from 3-7:00 p.m. Interment Manhattan Center Cemetery, Manhattan. In Lieu of flowers, donations to the family would be greatly appreciated.
