Obituary

Donna Marie Podest, age 56, of Wilton Center, passed away peacefully with family at her side after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Silver Cross Hospital. Survived by her loving husband of 18 years, Brian, her children, Jack (Kelly) McGreehin and Tyler Podest, two grandchildren, Jackie and Brooklyn McGreehin, three sisters, Sharon Panacchia, Nancy Valenta, and Jay Pinner, her mother-in-law, Dorothy Ogden, 6 sisters-in-law, 4 brothers-in-law and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Geraldine Wilkinson, two brothers, Harry and Ronny Wilkinson, and her father-in-law, Frank Podest. Donna Marie was a "Lunch Lady" at Laraway School, where she enjoyed all the children. She had a very strong ethic and could outwork anybody, as a result, could be caught sleeping many hours at a time. She could be found volunteering for various charitable causes or at Sanctuary Church helping out in any way she could. Donna Marie had a deep faith; her love for her faith was contagious. She loved her family and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren. Funeral service for Donna Marie Podest will be 10:30 A.M., Friday, December 18, 2015 for prayers at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home followed by procession to St. Paul United Church of Christ for formal church service at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Dan Hudson officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, December 17, 2015 from 4-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
