Donna L. Windberg (nee Shaffer), age 73, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 5, 2022, at her home. She is survived by her loving partner of 13 years, Gary Ellinger, sons, Carson (Lisa) Meade III and Charles "Brian" (Deborah) Atkins, grandchildren, Caiden, Charlie and Alex, brother, Harvey Shaffer, nieces, Sherry Dahman and Dawn Willochell and nephews, Nathan Edds, Todd Shaffer and Scott Shaffer. Donna is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Virginia Shaffer, sister, Brenda Shouse, sister-in-law, Penny Shaffer and nephew, Patrick Edds. Donna grew up in West Virginia and graduated from Shady Spring High School in 1967. After school, she worked as administration assistant for a local mining company before moving to Grand Haven, Michigan, where she began a long career in the insurance industry. Donna was a very active member of Revolution Church in Manhattan, IL, where she worked with the serving group and greeter team. She was also a member of the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of Illinois and enjoyed taking trips to various places such as, North Carolina, West Virginia, Hawaii, Jamestown, Williamsburg, and her cabin in Newaygo, Michigan. In her spare time, Donna worked on crafts including wreaths, but she was well-known for her unrivaled homemade meals. Visitation for Donna will take place on Sunday, September 11, 2022, from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at Revolution Church in Manhattan. Funeral service will immediately follow at 4:00 P.M. with Pastor Billy Knott officiating.
