Obituary

Elia C. Hunt (nee Mathy), age 74, passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Amita St. Joseph Medical Center, Joliet. She is survived by her loving husband Kellogg "Kelly" Hunt, son Steve (Katie) Hunt, daughters Michelle (Andy) Cramer and Beth Rios, grandchildren Cody (Tori) Hunt, Jake and Jessie Cramer, Bryan (Leah) Stopka and Lindsay Stopka, two great-grandchildren Brody and Quinn Hunt, sisters Theresa Hindman and Pally Ferenbacher and sisters-in-law Joann Strack and Janet (Clint) Boxhorn and numerous nieces and nephews. Elia is preceded in death by her parents Lavern and Zeah (Hawkins) Mathy, sister Claudia Schmidt, brother Joe Mathy and parents-in-law Ruth and Charles Hunt. Elia grew up in Clifton, IL. She and her husband Kelly met each other during their Air Force basic training in San Antonio, TX. Elia attended Joliet Junior College for nursing and then went on to work in numerous hospitals throughout the area as a labor and delivery nurse. In her spare time, Elia often enjoyed playing bridge and other card games. She loved to travel and was an Indianapolis Colts fan. Elia loved her family and will be dearly missed. Visitation for Elia will be on Monday, September 27, 2021, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home, Manhattan. Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at 10:30A.M.
