Elsie Marie Bettenhausen, age 87 of Manhattan, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. Survived by her loving son Steve (Susie), grandchildren Jake and Sara Bettenhausen, numerous nieces, and her nephew. Preceded in death by her devoted husband Londus Bettenhausen, parents Angelo Bazzani and Irene Bazzani (nee Corrado), sisters Rena and Licia, and brother John Bazzani.

Elsie graduated from Lockport Township High School in 1955. She spent her years taking great care of her family and household, both of which she took much pride in. She kept the house in immaculate condition as a skilled and seasoned cleaner. She was passionate about cooking her family recipes, especially the ever-famed polenta and chicken. She led a simple but fulfilling life as a spunky woman that loved to talk and made bonds with many. Her kind and refreshing spirit will always be remembered.

Visitation for Elsie will take place on Friday, October 11 from 4:00-7:00 P.M. with Service at 7:00 P.M. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. Interment will take place the following day, Saturday, October 12, beginning with prayers at the funeral home at 10:00 A.M. then processing to Green Garden Green View Cemetery.
