Erlene J. Crater (nee Lyme), age 89, of Minooka, passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022. She is survived by her children, Dave (Sandra) Crater, Evalene "Evie" (Frank) Rowley, Larry (Tracy) Crater, grandchildren, David (Tamme) Crater, Kurt (Jenn) Crater, Jeff (Jennifer) Crater, Mandy (Dwight) Larson, Joe (Amy) Duvrovich, Rachel (Kent) Bearden, Matthew Jones, Frank Jr. (Brittney) Rowley, John (Masha) Rowley, Jennifer (Jim) Yurkovich, Laura (Ryan) Henkaline, Michelle (Mike) Daminco and 28 great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friend Lucille also survive. Erlene is preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, David P. Crater, parents Earl and Viola Lyme and 5 siblings. Erlene attended Braidwood High School. She married David and they built their home in 1964 in Minooka. Erlene was a devoted mother and full-time grandma, as her grandchildren were everything to her. She loved to garden, do yard work and keep the rabbits away. She was also a faithful member of Minooka United Methodist Church. Erlene's family would like to thank her caregiver Mary Lou Carr for everything she did for Erlene including bringing a laugh and a smile to her face. A memorial service for Erlene will take place on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Minooka United Methodist Church beginning with visitation at 10:30 A.M. until the time of service at 11:00 A.M.
