Evelyn G. Weber, Age 92, of Manhattan, IL passed away, Sunday, February 8, 2016 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home in Joliet, IL. Born in Joliet to the late Emil and Sophia (nee Luehrs) Rab. Evelyn took great joy in being a housewife. She was proud to have farmed for twenty seven years in the Green Garden area with her late husband, Clyde. She was also a Sunday School teacher for ten years and the Sunday School Superintendent for three years. She belonged to the Young Women's Group and U.M.W. at Green Garden United Methodist Church. In 1969, she joined the Manhattan United Methodist Church, where she was the first woman trustee for four years. Evelyn chaired the Chicken & Biscuit dinner for fifteen years and was also a bible school teacher. She was a consultant for House of Lloyd's Christmas Around the World for ten years. Evelyn also was a Will County Judge of Election for fifty years. Surviving are two sons, David (Laura) Weber of Eureka, IL and Roger (Margery) Weber of Seneca, IL; one daughter, Rita Weber of Elwood, IL; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Clyde (2006); one grand-daughter, Lynda Weber (2002); one sister, Viola (Francis) Eason; and one brother, Lewis (Ann) Rab. Funeral services for Evelyn G. Weber will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 11, 2016 at the Manhattan United Methodist Church, 335 East North Street. She will lie in state from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Pastor Doug Carroll will officiate. Visitation Wednesday, February 10 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home, Manhattan.
