G. Dean Berryman, age 82, of Elwood, formerly of Lockport, passed away peacefully with his loving wife of 63 years, Janet (nee Seehafer) Berryman at his side at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home on Thursday, November 17, 2016. Also surviving are his children, Ron (Laurie) Berryman, Dawn (Randy-deceased 2015) Bankroff, Mark (Karen) Berryman, his grandchildren, Kelly Berryman, Ashley (Andrew) Vail, Kori (Matt) Walick, Shawn Berryman and Jana Berryman, his great grandchildren, Alyssa, Ella, Wyatt, Riley, Raylynn, and Daxson, his sister, Lynda (Ronald) Downen, three sister-in-laws, Barbara (Don) Marietta, Kathleen (Len) Barney, Debra (Mike) Newell and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Myrtle (nee Otto) Berryman, two infant daughters, one granddaughter, Dana Berryman, one sister, Loma Beth Berens and one nephew, Terry Berglund. Dean was a devout member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Manhattan. He worked in construction primarily in the restaurant industry. Dean and Janet loved to travel and traveled many states, he especially enjoyed visiting Our Lady of Good Help in Champion, WI. Many adventures were taken with their close friends, Don and Maureen Kubinski. One of Dean's favorite past times was baking breads for his family, friends, and fellow parishioners. Visitation for Dean Berryman will be Monday, November 21, 2016 from 9-10:00 A.M. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. Funeral service will be immediately following the visitation from 10:00 A.M. from Forsythe Gould Funeral Home in procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 235 West North Street, Manhattan, for 10:30 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park, Joliet, IL. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Manhattan or Joliet Community Hospice.
