Gordon Frederick Richards, age 93, of Mokena passed away peacefully with family by his side at his home on Monday, July 20, 2020. Gordon is preceded in death by his loving wife, Anne. He is survived by his four children, Joy, Gordon Jr., Dawn and Noel, his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Gordon was born and raised in Cicero, IL. He enlisted at the age of 17 in the Army Air Corp and saw action at Okinawa. He was a teacher for 33 years in Burbank, IL and an avid hunter and golfer. It is hard to sum up a life of 93 years in a few short lines, but it can be said that he had a fun, full life constantly surrounded by his family and all who loved him. Gordon will be dearly missed and will remain in our hearts forever. On behalf of the family an additional heartfelt thanks would like to be extended to Joliet Area Community Hospice nurses and staff. A private interment with full military honors will take place and he will be laid to rest next to his wife Anne at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
