Helga Hildegard Kramer

Helga Hildegard Kramer, a longtime resident of Crestwood, passed away on May 30, 2025, at the age of 88, following complications from lung cancer. Born on May 28, 1937, in Nordwalde, Germany, Helga immigrated to the United States at the age of 19, determined to build a new life. Her courage and perseverance shaped the foundation of her life in America, where she became a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Helga was the cherished mother of her daughters Judy Wicherek, Rose (Tom) Ojermark, and Diana Esparza. She is also survived by her sons-in-law Christopher (Marita) Rusin and Humberto Esparza, as well as her doting grandchildren Erika Siegler, Michelle (Shawn) Patten, Cody (Faith) Esparza, and Cole Esparza. Helga was deeply proud of her six great-grandchildren, Katelyn, CJ, Kristin, Harper, Hayley, and Wyatt, finding great joy in watching their lives unfold.

In addition, Helga is survived by her sister Ruth Brandt and her many nieces and nephews in Germany, who held a special place in her heart.

A woman of simple pleasures, Helga loved spending time with her family, whether it was over a meal or sharing quiet mornings sipping coffee while watching the wildlife outside her window. She was a fan of westerns and enjoyed cooking, and one of her greatest joys was indulging in a delicious plate of fried chicken.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Hans and Erwin Kloppenborg and her grandson-in-law Jeffrey Siegler. Her loss leaves a profound emptiness in the hearts of her family, but her legacy of love, resilience, and unwavering devotion to those she cared for will live on in the generations she nurtured.
