Hilbert "John" Siemsen Jr. "Blacktop", age 80, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at his home. Survived by his brothers Edward W. (Patricia) Siemsen Sr. and Theodore (Kathy) Siemsen, his nieces and nephews Edward S. Siemsen, Shawn Siemsen, Patrick H. (Irma) Siemsen, Michael (Chuy) Siemsen, Bradley (Laura) Siemsen, Mark (Katie) Siemsen, Jennifer (Nick) Rodgers and numerous great nieces and great nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Hilbert John Sr. and Dorothy (nee Lau) Siemsen, his son Jon Siemsen and his niece Dana Siemsen. John grew up in Tinley Park and attended Trinity Lutheran Grade School. John graduated from Carl Sandburg High School and went on to proudly serve our country with the United States Marine Corps from 1960-1966. John was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 150 for over 50 years and worked for Gallagher Asphalt gaining the name "Blacktop John" or "B.J." for short. John loved animals of all kinds, he had a pet raccoon for a time and numerous dogs throughout the years. John also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Visitation for John will be on Monday, August 29, 2022, from 10:30 A.M. - 12:30 P.M. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. Funeral service will take place the same day at 12:30 P.M. also at the funeral home. Interment with full military honors will immediately follow the funeral service at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL at 2:00 P.M.
