James R. "Rich" Dillon, age 81 of Minooka, passed away on May 1, 2024. He is survived by his loving wife Sharon of 61 years, children Daniel (Lisa) Dillon, Colleen (Jim) Arnold, Rachel (Brian) McGovern, Cory (Lisa) Dillon, grandchildren Stacey (Mark) Gitschlag, Tyler Dillon, Tristen and Ryan Arnold, Riley Clark, Tierney and Ciaran Dillon. He is also survived by his great grandchild Elizabeth, sister-in-law Judi Dillon, and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, John and Georgia Dillon, and his brother, Donald Dillon.
James was a graduate of Joliet Catholic High School. He worked at the Joliet Army Ammunition Plant for 10 years then moved into a warehouse career with Exxon Mobil for 36 years. His coworkers aptly nicknamed him "Hooya" for how frequently he greeted folks with "Who ya lookin' for?" James was also a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Channahon and was a volunteer fireman for the Community of Minooka and served on the Mobil Oil Fire Brigade. He was a dedicated Packers fan who had the chance to go to a few games of theirs in his time, and he took and cherished every opportunity he could attend his kids and grandkids' events through their lives.
Private family services were held for James. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations in James' name to the American Heart Association, 300 S Riverside Plaza, Chicago, IL 60606, would be most appreciated.
