James "Mike" Gallaway, age 88, of Braceville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 with his loving family at his side. Survived by his children Mike Gallaway, Tammy (Mark) Santangelo, Colleen (Vince) Aguilar, Patrick (Debbie) Gallaway, Sean (Vicki) Gallaway and Timothy (Brenda) Gallaway, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, his brother Paul (Fran) Gallaway, nieces and nephews and his faithful canine companions, Little Guy and Buddy. Preceded in death by his parents Judith and David Gallaway, his wife June (nee Krueger) Gallaway, his son Martin Gallaway, his grandson Jonathan Gallaway, his brother Lawrence Gallaway, his sister Clara Whitney, and his brother David Gallaway. Mike was a 58-year honorary member of the Carpenters Union Local #174. During his retirement he moved to Arkansas and enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing and floating in the river. Visitation will take place on Monday, December 23, 2024 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of his funeral service at 12:00 noon at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Manhattan. In lieu of flowers donations in Mike's name to Lightways Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, IL 60431.
