James D. "Jim" Russell, age 70, of Manhattan, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2015. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Elsie (nee Irby), his children, Joseph Russell, Christopher Russell and Shay (Timothy) Hayden all of Manhattan, three grandchildren, Hunter, RJ, and Abbey, and two brothers, Robert and Donald Russell. Preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Sarah (nee Boughton) Russell and one son, David. Jim was a graduate of Lincoln-Way Central, class of 1964. He married Elsie in 1967. Jim was a retired member of Operators Union, Local #150 after 50 years of service. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and a proud, hard-nosed Democrat. Funeral service for Jim will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 30, 2015 at Forsythe Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Carroll officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
