Janet B. Darlinger (nee Niemann), age 72, passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2021 with family by her side at Lightways Hospice Home, Joliet. Survived by her loving husband of 53 years, John, sister-in-law, Rose (Gary) Adkins, brother-in-law, Fred (Carol) Darlinger, and sister-in-law Dorothy Furzey. Nephews Gary (Cathy) Adkins Jr., Thomas Adkins, Eric (Gwen) Darlinger, Steven (Allison) Darlinger and special friends, John (Marge) Fischer also survive. Janet is preceded in death by her parents Henry and Lorraine Niemann. Janet enjoyed quilting, cross stitching, sewing, card games and traveling. There was no crafting challenge that Janet could not master. Janet's perfect day was cross stitching while watching TV and taking care of her home and her husband John. Janet was a member of Trinity Evangelical Christian Church. She was a humble woman of faith, compassion, and integrity and a loving wife, aunt, sister-in-law and friend. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation for Janet will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home, Manhattan. Funeral service will take place on the same day following the visitation at 1:00 P.M. also at the funeral home. Inurnment with committal service will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood at 2:30.
