Jasper and Daisy Tromp, of Joliet, passed away peacefully, an hour apart, with family at their sides on Sunday, October 18, 2015. Jasper was age 90 and Daisy was age 87. They are survived by their children, John (Anita) Tromp, James (Corinne) Tromp, Richard (Judy) Tromp, Scott (Elizabeth) Cheffer, and Charles (Mary) Cheffer, eleven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, Daisy's brother, Harold (Tracy) Spencer and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by their parents, Susan Spencer and John and Hannah Tromp and Jasper's first wife, Ardyth Tromp. Jasper was a member of the American Legion, Marne, Post #13 and he served with General Patton in the 3rd Army, European Theatre. He retired after many years of service from Com Ed. Daisy was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Plainfield and was a volunteer for the Rialto and St. Joseph Hospital. Jasper and Daisy were inseparable in life. Funeral service for Jasper and Daisy will be 6:00 p.m., Sunday, November 1, 2015 at the funeral home with Rev. Carol Currier-Frighetto officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. until the time of service. Procession to the cemetery will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 2, 2015 from Forsythe Gould Funeral Home to Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood for a committal service with full military honors at 11:00 a.m. Memorials to St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Manhattan, would be most appreciated.
