Jean Marie DeFries (nee Wesselhoff), age 82, of Palos Hills, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Sunny Hill Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, Joliet. She is survived by her loving husband of over 59 years, Jack DeFries, her daughter Gayle (Mike) Carroll of CA, her daughter-in-law Kathy (Matt McGiles) DeFries of Orland Hills, her grandchildren; Allison (Matt) Butin, Sean Carroll, Eric Carroll, Nicholas DeFries, Rachel DeFries, her step grandchildren; Taylor McGiles and Emilyee McGiles, her twin sister Joan Oblinsky, and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents Emil and Frances Wesselhoff, her son Keith DeFries (2005), two sisters and five brothers. Jean was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Palos Hills. She loved to bake for everyone especially her family and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Jean enjoyed shopping and traveling, especially to visit her grandchildren in California, with a side trip to Las Vegas. Jean was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend and she will be greatly missed. Visitation for Jean Marie DeFries will be Thursday, September 1, 2016 from 9-11:00 A.M. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home, Manhattan, IL. Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. also at the funeral home with Deacon Bob Fitt officiating. Inurnment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood.
