Jeane M. Wade, age 69, of Vandalia formerly of Manhattan area passed away peacefully at her home with family at her side on Monday, May 2, 2022. Survived by her three sons Robert (Amanda) Wade, Jonathon Wade, and William Wade, her grandchildren Penelope and Evangeline Wade and Andrew, Emma, Dahlia and Benjamin Wade, siblings Phil (Pat) Harper, Jim Harper, Steve (Becky) Harper, Debbie (Gary) Daw, numerous nieces and nephews and her three feline companions Sunny, Callie and Peggy. Preceded in death by her parents Robert and Eva Harper, her sister Peggy Jones and her niece Kathy Jones. Jeane was a graduate of Rich East High School and continued to Dental Hygienist School. Jeane enjoyed working as a dental hygienist for a number of years. She then stayed home to raise her three boys while also keeping the books for their family architecture business. Later, Jeane started her own web page business "Page Minders" which was cutting edge in its time. Also, while in the Manhattan area, Jeane briefly managed Charlie II's Restaurant. Jeane made the decision to move south to Vandalia and took a position at a local Walmart starting the pilot program of the self-check industry in Walmart Stores. It seemed that Jeane was willing to tackle and learn just about anything. She also enjoyed reading, especially mystery novels, talk radio, fox news, and baking puffins and rice crispy treats but above all, what brought Jeane most joy was spending time with her family. Visitation for Jeane will be on Friday, May 13, 2022 from 4-8:00 P.M. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. Funeral service will take place Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 10:00 A.M.
