Jeanne Boyle (nee Heroux), age 91, of Manhattan passed away at Lightways Hospice Home, Joliet, on Saturday, July 15, 2023, with her loving family at her side. Survived by her children Dorothy (Mark) Thompson, Sharon (Doug) Woods, William E. (Cheryl) Boyle III, Patrick Boyle, John (Cathy) Boyle, Mary Jeanne Boyle, and Kathy (Mike) May, her grandchildren Donald (Heather) Thompson, Brian (Niki) Thompson, Kevin (Natalie) Thompson, Robert (Nicole) Thompson, Jeremy (Kim) Woods, Thomas (Aria) Woods, Amanda (Donald) West, William E. Boyle IV, Jaclyn (Shawn) Bukas, Randall (Mollie) Boyle, Russell Boyle, Shawn Boyle, Colleen (Dan) Fasullo, John (Ashley) Boyle, Catie Boyle, Cass Murphy, Robin (Brett) Schulz, Michael (Renee) May, Nick (Lauren) May, Christian May, Angela (Nate) Rock and Michael Boyle, twenty-four great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceded in death by her parents Francis and Dorothy (nee Macklin) Heroux, her husband William Boyle Jr. (2003), her son Michael Joseph Boyle, and her siblings Tom Heroux, Dot Credeen, and Mike Heroux and her faithful canine companion "Coco".
Jeanne graduated with her bachelor's degree from Fontbonne University, St. Louis, and with her master's degree from National College of Education, Evanston. She taught and was the librarian for Chippewa School and Crab Orchard, Palos Heights and for the Manhattan Public Library. Jeanne loved books and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed watching the Chicago Blackhawks, Bears and Cubs, traveling and the opera to name a few. She was a longtime active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Manhattan. Jeanne's life revolved around her big family, spending time with them is what brought her most joy. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Jeanne will be remembered for her generous, sweet, kind, and caring ways and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation for Jeanne will take place on Friday, July 21, 2023, from 4-8:00 P.M. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. Funeral service will take place the following day, July 22, 2023, beginning with prayers at 9:30 A.M. at the funeral home then process to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 235 W. North St., Manhattan, for 10:00 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, Manhattan.
