Jeanne L. King, age 92, of Elwood, formerly of Country Club Hills, passed away peacefully at her home with family by her side on February 26, 2015. She is survived by her children; Geraldine (Richard-deceased) Baumgart, Mary (Steve-deceased) Barath, Pat King, Joseph (Mary) King, Edie (Chris) Cowell, and Ann King, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one sister, Hazel (Carl-deceased) Wickman, her sister-in-law, and Joan (Al-deceased) King. Preceded in death by her parents, Edith and Hazen Radike (nee Law), and her daughter, Jeanne M. King (2011). Jeanne was born in Wisconsin Rapid and lived in Country Club Hills for many years before moving to Elwood. In her younger years Jeanne was involved as a leader and mother in the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. Jeanne was also an active member of St. Emeric Catholic Church and of a quilting club; she retired after many years from St. James Hospital and loved traveling here and abroad. Funeral service for Jeanne King will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Forsythe Funeral Home. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Per Jeanne's wishes, she has been cremated.
