Jeffery G. Smith, age 55, of New Lenox, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 4, 2017 at his home with his family at his side. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Lisa (nee Marietta), his children; Christopher Smith and Delainey Smith; his brothers, Steven (Joanne) Smith, Michael (Rayna) Smith; his sisters, Cheri Smith, Joyce (Raymond) Hernandez, and Barbara (Jim) Morrow; parents-in-law, Donald and Barbara Marietta; special Sister-in-law, Gina Krumreich; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, Randall and Carole Smith; and his aunts, Glenna Smith and Doreen Jeffries. Jeffery was a graduate of Lincoln-Way Central Class of 1980 and went on to be a salesman in the concrete business for many years. He was a long time active parishioner at St. Jude Church in New Lenox. Jeffery was an avid reader, loved to cook and listen to music of all kinds. He was a selfless individual, a loving husband and proud father who will be dearly missed. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Jude Catholic Church, 241 W 2nd Ave New Lenox at 10:00 A.M., Monday, December 11, 2017. Jeffery will lie-in-state from 9:30 A.M. until the time of Mass. Visitation will be Sunday, December 10, 2017 from 2-6:00 P.M. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home, Manhattan.
