Jerry "Red Dog" Delaney, age 62, of Manhattan, passed away peacefully with family at his side after a very brief illness. He left this world after a full life, a true and kind father, papa, and friend to all he touched. Jerry is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lynn (nee Staehling), his daughter Amy (Tom) Cosgrove, his son Matt (Erin) Delaney, four grandchildren; Quinn, Cate, Nora and Tommy, his siblings; Dan (Debi) Delaney, Jim (Cathy) Delaney, Sheila (Larry) Woodcock, Mary Beth (Earl) Sanders, two close sisters-in-law Ellen Wehrmann and Jan O'Hanley, numerous dear nieces and nephews, and his two faithful canine companions, Sadie and Brady. Preceded in death by his parents Florence Doyle Delaney (1966) and his father Harold Delaney (1998). Jerry is known for his 67 Camaro and his amazing skill with all motors and vehicles. Jerry never knew a stranger and was always there for a friend in need. Funeral service for Jerry will be 5:00 P.M., Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. Visitation will also be Sunday, October 1, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. until the time of service. Cremation rites have been accorded.
